How the "Palestinian People" was invented by the KGB

“Before leaving my position as head of the Romanian intelligence services for America, I was tasked with delivering to Arafat approximately $200,000 in laundered cash each month during the 1970s. I also sent two cargo planes to Beirut every week, loaded with uniforms and supplies. Other states in the Soviet bloc did roughly the same thing....
I was handed the KGB’s “personal file” on Arafat. He was an Egyptian bourgeois transformed into a devoted Marxist by the KGB’s foreign intelligence services. The KGB had trained him at its school for special operations in Balashikha, east of Moscow, and had decided, in the mid-1960s, to prepare him to become the future leader of the PLO.
First, the KGB destroyed Arafat’s official birth records in Cairo and replaced them with forged documents stating that he was born in Jerusalem and was therefore Palestinian by birth.
The KGB’s disinformation department then worked on Arafat’s four-page leaflet titled “Falastinuna” (Our Palestine), transforming it into a 48-page monthly magazine for the Palestinian terrorist organization al-Fatah. Arafat had led al-Fatah since 1957. The KGB distributed it throughout the Arab world and in West Germany, which at the time hosted many Palestinian students....
Arafat was an important secret agent for the KGB. Just after the 1967 Six-Day Israeli-Arab War, Moscow appointed him president of the PLO. It was the Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, a Soviet puppet, who proposed this appointment. In 1969, the KGB asked Arafat to declare war on “American imperialism and Zionism” at the first summit of the Black International of Terrorism, a neo-fascist pro-Palestinian organization funded by the KGB and the Libyan Moammar Kadhafi.
The imperialo-Zionist war cry pleased Arafat so much that he later claimed to have invented it. But in fact, “imperialism and Zionism” is a Moscow invention, a modern adaptation of the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” and for a long time the favorite tool of the Russian secret services to foment ethnic hatred.
